Overview

A POS system can process sales transactions and customer orders, perform clienteling activities, and perform daily operations and inventory management, sales reporting on devices anywhere in the store, and also at PC-based registers, inclusive of mobile device capabilities.

Current Pain points

  1. Inventory Management is the biggest issue: Currently, have a 300K charge from EBITDA due to inventory challenges

  2. POS system called counterpoint – houses inventory for all 10 stores and 1 warehouse. Have to manually adjust inventory.

    1. Limited ability to automatically make transactions / return in stores. UL has scanners that don’t connect with counterpoint and have to manually adjust inventory

    2. No ability to do Kitting / Bundling or loyalty program through POS

    3. Buying / Merchandising is all managed in Excel spreadsheets

  3. Reporting:

    1. UL runs ad hoc reporting and manipulates data with spreadsheets to review daily/weekly per store reporting (Sell through, KPI reporting, etc)

    2. UL partnered with a company called Skunexis to create a dashboard view with multiple masters, but this ended up being too difficult and did not proceed.

  • Transfer of inventory

  • Receiving / Placing POs

  • Ensure tied back into financial reporting (system of checks and balances)
(POS will be integrated with OMS. OMS will ensure this)

Phase-1

Immediate Must Have

4

Allow kitting / bundling through POS - Cannot manage inventory accurately without this
(Fabric PIM will take care of this so that we have one central point for handling products)

Phase-1

Immediate Must Have

5

Conduct accurate inventory counts as quickly as possible so we can walk away with variance reports immediately (that can be acted on in the same day).

(POS will send the inventory count adjustments to fabric WMS )

Phase-1

Immediate Must Have

6

POS system for open transfer requests associated with that drawers location

Note: We have an email notification now but our managers constantly miss those. It would be great to have something visible in the POS system so they can keep better track of requests

(We might use the OMS to send out notifications)

Phase 2

Future Must Have

7

Loyalty Program integration through POS

Note: This will be handled as a separate project outside of POS implementation.

Phase 2

Future Must Have

8

Mobile pos solution for events at tournaments or pop up shops

(POS Solution to include the cash register & Sales History)

Phase 2

Future Must Have

9

Ability to “line bust” when our stores are overwhelmed.

Phase 2

Future Must Have

10

Centralized Stock Transfer Module

Note: Need more detailed requirements on cap, purchase value qty from UL. These requirements are needed to build threshold and parameters for PO’s over a certain quantity and value to be approved internally by finance/merchandising teams.
